About Me...
Years ago, my granddaughter suggested I write a blog with all of the family's favorite foods. It blossomed into a recipe blog, with over 7,000 followers on Facebook. I was so surprised, excited and humbled to think people, other than family and friends, were interest in what I enjoyed making in my kitchen.
I decided to include tips, ideas, remembrances and some funny stories along with each recipe. I felt it was a great way to help my children and grandchildren learn about their heritage and even meet their ancestors through some of my own memories. I wasn't sure if anyone else would be interested, but if they bring a smile, chuckle or help you recall your own kitchen experiences, I'm all for it!
I grew up in an Italian household, so "la famiglia" is very important to me, and many of these wonderful recipes were handed down from my own parents and family friends. I'm from the generation that still sat down together for a meal and exchanged stories of their day. And yes, Sundays was the big dinner with sauce, meatballs and pasta (although it was always called "macaroni" in our house.) Then off to see my grandparents and spend some time with them. I wouldn't trade my childhood for anything...I consider it the BEST!
You're probably wondering why I've started all over with a new food blog. Unfortunately, it got hacked and can no longer share from my original one. So, since I'm not one to completely give up, I thought I'd slowly transfer all my recipes to a new one...wish me luck! LOL!
On a more personal note...I am a child of the One True King and am not ashamed to share my faith, for it is a big part of who I am. I'm so grateful for a Savior who loves me unconditionally and gave His own life so that I may live forever with Him. May I never take for granted what Christ did for me, and I pray that others will see the difference He's made in my life!
